THOUGHTS ON THE WORD 'SALVATION'
By Priest Michaelus Isom

LET's consider the word salvation. Most people tend to think of salvation in the Christian sense of being saved from sin. But it really goes far beyond that, especially for us who worship Antinous. First what does Salvation mean: The act of saving or protecting from harm, risk, loss, destruction, etc. According to Merriam Webster salvation also means liberation from ignorance or illusion.

The idea of salvation for Hermetic worshipers was found in the ability to free their spirit from their material body.  This separation was accomplished through the acquirement of certain knowledge that is hidden within the human spirit. For us who worship Antinous we too seek that which is hidden, and that is Homotheosis.

"Homotheosis is the sacrament of becoming one with Antinous, of not only loving, worshipping, and serving His memory, but of opening the petals of our flaming soul, of skin of human body in which we are encased, to the living spirit of Antinous. In order to partake of His divine presence, one must become the same as Antinous, homogenous, consubstantial, and coeternal...in as much as one is able.” (Antonius Subia)

So, to open the petals of our flaming soul, is to look within. The more you study. The more you pray. The more you look inside Antinous reveals himself through Homotheosis.

Make it a point every day to maybe say a prayer, light a candle, read about Antinous. Even if it is only a few minutes.

Those minutes are precious to not only Antinous but to you. Why? Because every time you do, another petal is revealed through Homotheosis, and you become that much closer of becoming one with Antinous.

AVE ANTINOUS!
PRIEST MICHAELUS
